The PGA Tour season resumes this week with the 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship, held once again at The Country Club of Jackson in Mississippi. Similar to what we saw a few weeks back at the Fortinet, the strength of this field is very weak. So what does that mean for daily fantasy?

It will be extremely hard to be successful in daily fantasy because there will be higher variance in results because the players are not as consistent. All of the high priced players this week are the guys we normally are playing in the $8,000 range. So for that reason, I typically suggest to lower the amount you invest in weeks like this due to the unpredictability. With that being said, let’s dig in to some key areas of focus and three players to look at for the 2023 Sanderson:

Eric Cole $10,300

I never expected to type the words “Eric Cole $10,300” but here we are. Cole is arguably the most consistent player in this field as he has only missed the cut five times in his last 29 events. He comes into this event in good form finishing fourth at the Fortinet. Cole is the ideal fit for this course as success is highly correlated to above average approach play (especially from 100 to 150 yards) and putting. He is the only player in the field to rank top 10 in both approach and putting. He also ranks first in the field in approach from 100 to 150 yards. He also leads the field in birdies, which will help your DraftKings score even if he makes the cut but doesn’t finish near the top of the leaderboard. All signs point to Cole this week so lock him into your lineup.

Dylan Wu $7,600

Dylan Wu is a cheaper version of Eric Cole. Wu placed 14th at the Fortinet after having an above average week off the tee, on approach, and putting. I know it sounds simple, but gaining strokes on approach and putting will be critical this week. He is one of only four players to rank top 20 in both approach and putting. Wu has gained strokes in both areas in each of his last three events (27.7 strokes in total!). Similar to Cole, he ranks fifth in approach from 100 to 150 yards and ranks second in birdies.

Chez Reavie $7,400

We are continuing to hammer the same trends here with Reavie. He made the cut at the Fortinet and is one of the four players in this field to rank top 20 in both approach and putting. And yes, he also ranks seventh in approach from 100 to 150 yards and 28th in birdies. He has made the cut in 13 of his last 15 events, which is a much higher rate than almost everyone in this price range.
