After a big WOWgr last week, we’re back with our normal edition. No one is getting tackled this week.
Need a refresher on WOWgr rules?
Vol. 2023.25
No. 1 – Rose Zhang (no change from last week) – Absolutely no one should expect a victory from Rose in her first professional start in a major, but she’s off to a good start at Baltusrol.
No. 2 – Wyndham Clark (Up 23) – As much as I was rooting for Rory McIlroy last week, you do in fact have to give Wyndham Clark a serious amount of credit for his performance at LACC. The dude played phenomenal golf tee-to-green. I’m still not over that club twirl on Saturday evening.
No. 4 – Angst over L.A. golf fans (Up 821) – If you thought LACC was a poor environment for a U.S. Open, just wait until we’re back there in eight years for Riviera!
Back to Los Angeles! 🤩
The Riviera Country Club will host its fifth @USGA championship and second #USOpen. More details: https://t.co/0Oq0nw3vIA pic.twitter.com/c6YhPQCyBO

No. 7 – Communication (Up 11) – After finishing in the top 10 at the U.S. Open, Min Woo Lee earned a start at this weekend’s Travelers Championship. That meant he had to miss this week’s KMPG Women’s PGA Championship where sister Minjee was playing. At least he let her know with a “sorry, sis” text.
T-17 – Acai bowls (Up 222) – Myself, Andy Johnson, and Matt Rouches are on a rather long road trip this week and we’ve found refuge in the occasional acai bowl to help us from eating too poorly on the road. It might be my favorite business expense.
T-17 – New Haven pizza (no change) – That said, it’s tough to pass up a good pie when in New Haven.
No. 31 – Appointments (Up 332) – It’s never fun to go to a meeting you’d rather not be in. Unrelated, I’m sure Jay Monahan and Yasir Al-Rummayan will enjoy their time with the Senate next month.
No. 1,333 – Angst over low scores (Down 1,332) – Low scores at U.S. Open = bad. Low scores at Travelers Championship = good. Apparently.
No. 1,821 – Timely drops (Down 882) – Whatever happened with Minjee Lee on the 17th hole at Baltusrol on Thursday should never occur in professional golf. How can a drop take 15 minutes?
