Congratulations to Hudson Swafford!!!! For those of you who have been reading these articles every week, you are probably already aware of my massive golf man crush on Hudson Swafford. He’s probably been the most featured golfer in these articles over the past year since DraftKings kept underpricing him in my eyes. Let’s see if another consistent player can breakthrough this week at Torrey Pines.

This week’s DraftKings pricing is very peculiar. It almost seems that prices were determined without regard to last week’s results (see prices of Hadwin, Swafford, and the players below). With that being said, this week’s DraftKings picks are actually the 3 best options for One-and-Done leagues as well!!!

Brandt Snedeker $9,500

Snedeker is an obvious choice this week. In his last 7 starts at Torrey, he has 6 top 20s including 2 wins and 2 runner ups. It’s safe to say that he likes this track. He is one of the best scramblers and loves putting on Poa Annua greens which are featured on the South course. If you are going to pick Snedeker at some point during the year for your league, this is the best spot.

Charles Howell $7,300

Howell is fresh off his 5th straight top 15, so he is coming into this event in great form. He’s made his last 7 cuts at Torrey, with 5 top 20s in that span. His strength is long, accurate driving which is required on the long, arduous South course. If you are looking to save Snedeker for another event, it may make sense to play Howell this week in your league.

Martin Laird $6,500

Laird has finished in the top 10 the last 2 years at this event. He is another long, accurate driver who is playing well as evidenced by his top 10 last week at the Career Builder. Laird provides another option for your league if you feel like going a little bit against the consensus picks of Snedeker and Howell.

A new feature to the weekly article will be the inclusion of a longshot player to win (75-1 or worse):

This week’s player: Scott Stalling (90-1)

Stallings has had an up and down career highlighted by his play at Torrey Pines. He won here in 2014 and finished 2nd in 2015. Add that to the fact that he might have found something in his swing last week en route to an 8th place finish at the Career Builder and that is enough to run with the 90-1 odds and hope to hit the jackpot.
