This week the Tour heads to Colonial Country Club, a course that couldn’t play more different than Bethpage Black did a week ago. Isn’t it curious how after the first two majors of the year, both of which favored bombers, we see the Tour head to Harbour Town and Colonial? Players at Colonial will need to focus more on accuracy than distance and rely on a solid short- to mid-iron game. Let’s talk about a few players you may want to use for DraftKings and One-and-Done leagues.

DraftKings

Joel Dahmen $8,200

Dahmen’s game fits this course perfectly. He is accurate off the tee and very solid with his short- and mid-irons. In his last two events, he has gained 11.3 strokes on approach. Prior to last week’s 71st-place finish at the PGA Championship, he got second at the Wells Fargo and 16th at the Heritage. He finished 20th at Colonial in his debut last year.

Danny Lee $7,200

Lee started out on fire last week at the PGA but faded over the weekend. He now heads to Colonial, where he has had an excellent record, including four consecutive top-22 finishes and two top 10s. At $7,200, he offers upside that not many players in that price range have.

One-and-Done

Jon Rahm

Rahm comes into this event rested after missing the cut at the PGA. He has had success at Colonial, finishing in the top five in each of his two appearances. Interestingly enough, both of those finishes occurred after placing 63rd or worse in his previous event. He has said that he feels comfortable on this course and that the cut he plays off the tee fits many holes. As a result, he approaches Colonial more aggressively than other players, taking driver off most tees.

Kevin Kisner

Kisner is a prototypical horse for this course. Using his accuracy off the tee and his solid short- to mid-irons, he can attack this course. He has finished in the top 10 in three of the last four years here, winning in 2017.
