Playoffs? Playoffs? (Read in Jim Mora’s voice.) The FedEx Cup Playoffs (?!) are finally here, as the top 125 players on the PGA Tour descend on Massachusetts for the 2020 Northern Trust. The venue, TPC Boston, has a par of 71, stretches just over 7,300 yards, and usually provides a lot of fireworks, especially on the reachable par-5 18th. The course favors exceptional mid- and long iron players who also have a steady hand on the greens. The pros can expect at least 12 approaches from 150 yards and out, so those who give themselves makeable looks from that range—or just putt their faces off—will be at the top of the leaderboard come Sunday.

With that in mind, here are a few players to target in your fantasy leagues this week:

DraftKings

Daniel Berger $8,900

Despite being one of the best players in the world right now, Berger continues to be underpriced. He has finished 13th or better in seven of his past eight events, and he is above average in almost every statistical category. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him on the first page of the leaderboard once again this week.

Harris English $7,600

English is the best value in the Northern Trust field. How can a player who has finished 23rd or better in eight of his past nine starts be only $7,600? English is in the top 25% of almost every major statistical category relevant for TPC Boston, so we can expect him to finish plenty high enough to pay off his $7,600 price tag.

One-and-Done

Jason Day

Over the past few weeks, Day has seen a resurgence in his game, and he has racked up four consecutive top-seven finishes. He now heads to TPC Boston, where he has performed very well (T-2 and T-3 in 2010 and 2011, respectively). This course rewards strong iron play and putting, and we already know Day is one of the best putters on the planet. Plus, he has gained strokes on approach in five straight events—something he hasn’t done since 2017!

Patrick Reed

Reed is another player with a promising course history. He has finished sixth or better in three of his past four appearances at TPC Boston. This year, he arrives at the Northern Trust after finishing T-13 at the PGA Championship and T-9 at the Wyndham. At both events, he gained strokes putting and on approach.
