Event Information

  • Date: Saturday, May 14, 2022
  • Location: Lawsonia Links – Green Lake, WI
  • Entry Fee: $325/player – SOLD OUT
  • Format: The Steam Shovel is a 36 hole (18 of best ball, 18 of alternate shot) team event where players will compete as two-person teams for both gross and net prizes. Men and women welcome! Singles are more than welcome to sign up and will be paired with another golfer for the day. Registration includes tee gifts, prizes, breakfast, a big lunch, and a post-golf hors d’oeuvres.
  • Is there a handicap requirement? Absolutely not. Everyone from PGA Tour members to 35 handicappers have participated and we’re happy to have them all. Both net and gross scores are kept for that exact reason. If you don’t want your score counted and would rather just enjoy the golf course, you can do that too!
  • Why you should see Lawsonia Links: Ask anyone at The Fried Egg and we’ll tell you the Links Course at Lawsonia is one of our favorite in the country. Designed by William Langford & Theodore Moreau, Lawsonia Links possesses some of the boldest features you’ll see in golf. A lot of dirt was moved during construction, but the routing also takes advantage of the land to create many thrilling shots throughout the round. It’s old-school maximalism at its finest.
  • Behind the Name: What better way to move dirt in the early 1900s than a steam shovel?! Throughout the Links you’ll see distinct instances where a steam shovel was used to move dirt, helping build some incredibly dramatic holes.
