The PGA Tour jumps across the pond this week for the Scottish Open hosted once again at the Renaissance Club. Many players are using this week as a warmup for next week’s Open Championship, as this course plays as a semi-links and provides a nice transition from the aerial game used on the PGA Tour to the links game needed next week. The weather forecast for looks interesting as there is the potential rain and wind each day. Let’s take a look at three players who can excel when conditions get tough:

Tommy Fleetwood $9,400

When will Tommy Fleetwood win on the PGA Tour? That’s the persistent question. Well, this might be it! Fleetwood is a links golf aficionado and excels in the wind. He has made the cut in all three appearances, including two top-four finishes. He already has four top-five finishes on the PGA Tour in 2023, including a heartbreaking loss at the Canadian Open. Fleetwood makes for a great option this week as many of the top-tier players may be solely focused on preparing for next week.

Justin Thomas $8,300

I think we have finally hit rock bottom on pricing for JT and it is time to buy back in. Now yes, I know his form in 2023 hasn’t been great but he is trending in the right direction. We have seen flashes of the “old” JT over his last few events, including gaining over seven strokes on approach at the Travelers. He now heads to the Renaissance Club, where he has finished ninth or better in two of his three appearances. Thomas plays best when he can just rely on feel and less on mechanics, so the windy forecast should bode well for him.

Lucas Herbert $7,700

Herbert is a very volatile player as he either has his A-game or he struggles mightily. This makes him a great tournament option on DraftKings at this price. In 14 events in 2023, he has a win, two thirds, and eight finishes of 50th or worse. Herbert excels in links golf, especially when the wind picks up. He has made the cut in three of four appearances including two top four finishes.
