Event Information

  • Date: Saturday, April 2, 2022
  • Location: Charleston Municipal Golf Course – Charleston, SC
  • Entry Fee: $325/player – SOLD OUT
  • Special Announcement: The King Tide event is being run in partnership with Fore the Ladies! If you’re unfamiliar with FTL, they are an organization that runs clinics and events to introduce more women to golf in a stress-free environment. Fore the Ladies will run a clinic alongside our event at Charleston Municipal and we are also reserving spots in the King Tide for FTL members. The clinic will be held on the Charleston Municipal driving range from 4-6 p.m. Then, the Fore the Ladies clinic will join up with The Fried Egg’s King Tide event for food trucks and beverages! More information on the Fore the Ladies Charleston Clinic.
  • Format: The King Tide is a 36-hole (18 best ball, 18 alternate shot) team event where players will compete as two-person teams for both gross and net prizes. Men and women welcome! Singles are also more than welcome to sign up and will be paired with another golfer for the day. Registration includes tee gifts, prizes, breakfast, a big lunch, and a post-golf food truck.
  • Is there a handicap requirement? Absolutely not. Everyone from PGA Tour members to 35 handicappers have participated and we’re happy to have them all. Both net and gross scores are kept for that exact reason. If you don’t want your score counted and would rather just enjoy the golf course, you can do that too!
  • Why you should see Charleston Municipal: Charleston is a city with amazing private golf options, but locals didn’t have much in the way of an affordable public option. In 2019, Troy Miller of Miller Golf Design headed up a project to revitalize Charleston Municipal. Using Seth Raynor as inspiration, Troy and his team transformed the golf course. Today, “The Muni” boasts one of the more unique municipal experiences in the country.
  • Extracurriculars: On Thursday 3/31, we will be hosting a small group of players at the Country Club of Charleston for an additional fee. Those interested will be able to enter a lottery during registration.
  • Behind the Name: The back nine of Charleston Municipal plays down near the Stono River and often suffered from flooding before the renovation. Thanks to Troy Miller and his team, drainage and maintenance of those holes are much more manageable. Bring on The King Tide (but not really).

Traveling to Charleston

Charleston is drivable from many locations in the Southeast. For those driving in, Charleston International Airport (CHS) is the way to go. It is just 20 minutes from downtown and roughly half-an-hour from the airport.

Charleston has so much to offer in terms of hotels, rentals, and other lodging accommodations. We highly suggest doing a search to find one that suits both your budget and personal needs for your stay. Below you’ll find a few options that cover different styles of trip!

    • The Meeting Street Inn puts you in the heart of historic Charleston and within walking distance to countless restaurants, shops, and everything in between. Rates start at $391/night

    • There are tons of hotels east of downtown on Mt. Pleasant or near the beaches of Sullivan’s Island and Isle of Palm. The Hyatt House on Mt. Pleasant offers rooms starting at $299/night

    • For a budget friendly option, check out the Best Western Charleston. The BW is just west of the golf course but still close enough to downtown if you were interested in sight seeing or night life. Rates start at $195/night

    • Just west of downtown Charleston is the Cambria Hotel Charleston Riverview. Located halfway between the golf course and the heart of Charleston, the Cambria makes for a convenient stay. Rates start at $341/night

    • Of course, Airbnb and VRBO are always great options for house rentals and typically offer more affordable rates
