Fried Egg Golf is excited to return to Lake Merced Golf Club for the second time in 2024. Gil Hanse’s renovation in 2022 brought back MacKenzie flair and a year of maturing has yielded supreme conditions. Get away in the doldrums of winter for a few days in San Francisco. The Karl is named after the fog that often lingers around the Lake Merced area. Locals call the fog “Karl“.

What’s “The Karl” ?

Karl is an affection name that the San Francisco locals gave to the fog that routinely rolls into the city. They even gave him a Twitter account. We’ll make sure he stays away for the event though.
