The feel good story of the week continued on Saturday as Michael Block thrilled fans with a 70. The Club Professional from Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo, California has been a revelation with his terrific play, engaging personality and reactions. The coverage on CBS might be overdoing it a bit with Block getting more air time than players with actual chances of winning, but he’s been a refreshing story to follow. At age 46, Block should move squarely into the role of next obscure golfer to absolutely dominate the Senior Tour in a few years. The thing to watch on Sunday will be if Block can earn a few exemptions. A top ten will get him into the next week’s Charles Schwab and a top 4 would get him into the 2024 Masters.
