After a tremendous event at Dornick Hills in 2022, we are very excited to return to Oklahoma for the second edition of The Banker. We’ll kick off the summer with two laps around Perry Maxwell’s first ever design (recently restored by Tom Doak and his firm) and pay homage to his hometown.
Event Details
Date: Monday, June 3, 2024
Cost: $425/person
Location: Dornick Hills Country Club – Ardmore, Oklahoma
Event format
Our event will be a 36-hole two-person team event with each pair playing one round of best ball and one round of alternate shot. Players are welcome to register and come with a partner or sign up as a single and be paired with another golf junkie. Registration includes 36 holes of golf, tee gifts, prizes, breakfast, lunch, and post-golf hors d’oeuvres.
Why you should see Dornick Hills Country Club
Perry Maxwell’s first design recently received a restoration with the help of Tom Doak and Renaissance Golf. The work showcases Maxwell’s brilliant routing and bold choices, highlighted by his use of a large rock outcropping on the northwest end of the property. That daring decision making stands out at DHCC, especially considering it was his first design. Plus, as you might expect, the restored Maxwell green complexes can stand with any other course in his stable.
In the area
Not only is Perry Maxwell’s first design worth seeing if you live in the area, Dornick Hills is an easy place to tie into a trip. Less than two hours from Dallas and Oklahoma City and just 90 minutes from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, DHCC is easy to reach. Whether you’d want to see the new PGA Frisco courses, watch the World Series champion Rangers play a home series, or head up to Oklahoma City to see the Thunder in a would-be NBA Finals run, there is no shortage of sports options for you surrounding our event.
Why “The Banker”?
Before he began his golf architecture career at Dornick Hills, Perry Maxwell worked as a banker. The name of our event recalls his past pursuits, but man are we appreciative of his career change.

Photos from preview play – Before Dornick re-opened post renovation, Andy Johnson took a trip to Dornick Hills to get an early look at the course. While the grass was dormant, the architecture had no trouble standing out on the landscape.
Yolk with Doak Ep. 30: What’s Happening at the Lido and Dornick Hills – In July 2021, Tom Doak joined the podcast to discuss the then ongoing work at Dornick Hills. He discusses the club’s Perry Maxwell history, its bold architecture, and the course’s terrific set of greens.
