Like any good summer movie hit, Fried Egg Golf Events returns to Hollywood Golf Club for a sequel. The second edition of The Blockbuster presents a 36-hole day at the bold Walter Travis design and the chance to see one of New Jersey’s finest golf courses. The first Blockbuster had attendees raving in the summer of 2023 thanks to this stunner of a design.

Why you should see Hollywood Golf Club

Originally designed by Walter Travis and recently restored by Brian Schneider, Hollywood Golf Club’s design matches what its name could connote to some. It’s big, bright, and bold in all the right places. And while the slopes and features at Hollywood are eye popping, the course is extremely playable and fun. If you haven’t seen a Walter Travis design, Hollywood is a terrific place to start. The Australian born architect is one of the most under-appreciated architects in golf and has a tremendous portfolio of courses. At the Blockbuster, we’ll spend a full day at one of his best.

In the area

It would be easier to say what isn’t accessible from Hollywood Golf Club. Beaches, major cities, and plenty of golf are at your fingertips. An hour from Newark International Airport and just 90 mins from downtown New York City and downtown Philadelphia, Hollywood is accessible from just about anywhere. For those looking to visit with a spouse and do some sightseeing, you can easily set up shop in NYC or along the Jersey shore and make the drive to Hollywood. The Yankees and Phillies will both be in town that week if you’re looking for some baseball, and Atlantic City is also just an hour down the Jersey Turnpike.

What is “The Blockbuster”?

We may not be movie stars, but at Hollywood Golf Club, every participant is under the bright lights of show business.
