From before the sun rises until after the sun sets, players are on the course at George Wright Golf Course. It’s a good problem to have, unless you’re on the maintenance team, where challenge number one is simply getting out and getting the work done.
Boston native Len Curtin has spent 20 years breathing life back into a classic Donald Ross muni with what he calls “fast food golf maintenance.” In our All Grass Is Local series, we visit four different courses and cover their unique approaches to agronomy. On Monday we released Episode Three, which features the busy Boston course in Hyde Park.
In case you missed ’em, Episode One was focused on Brambles, the California course with a unique mission and plan (one-word tease: sheep!), and Episode Two featured 2025 U.S. Open host Oakmont Country Club.
