At Oakmont Country Club, the 2025 U.S. Open host, championship conditions don’t just apply to major years.
“Everything has always been about creating the firmest, fastest conditions as humanly possible,” said Oakmont superintendent Michael McCormick.
In our All Grass Is Local series, we visit four different courses and cover their unique approaches to agronomy. On Tuesday we released Episode Two, which features the famed course in the Pittsburgh suburb of Oakmont, Pennsylvania. In case you missed it, Episode One was focused on Brambles, the California course with a unique mission and plan (one-word tease: sheep!).
