Sunday Pins
Cameron went on another early stroll to see the course ahead of the final round. Here’s a look at some of the most famous Sunday pins in golf. – Will Knights

The Back-Left Pin on No. 1: An Appreciation
Today’s pin on the first hole is more effective than a cup of coffee. It’s perched on the crest of a run-off on the back edge of the back-left plateau; if players land their approaches even a single pace too far into the green, they’re likely to face a terribly difficult recovery from well below the putting surface. They need to be short here, but already this morning several players have been long.

For the past few years, the pin on No. 1 has been front right. I like that spot, too—it’s in a slight bowl, so it’s friendly, yet it’s protected by sharp contours on all sides, so it’s not too friendly—but the back-left location does a better job of enhancing the strategic angles of the hole. You really want to be on the right side of the fairway, as close to the bunker as you dare, to give yourself as much room as possible to keep your approach short. -Garrett Morrison
Hi, Gentlemen!
Are we in the Club? Is this a safe space?
I’m not ready to move past Zach Johnson’s Friday flash-zone interview, in which he denied cursing at the patrons at Amen Corner (and even half-heartedly tried to cast doubt on the notion that any curse words had been uttered at all) in astoundingly unconvincing fashion. It’s one of the funniest videos on the golf internet.
If you’ll indulge me, my favorite part is at the very beginning, when ZJ arrives at the microphone with the falsely chipper greeting, “Hi, gentlemen!”

This man knows exactly what’s coming. He’s perfectly aware that the first questions he’ll face will relate to what happened on the 12th green. But he’s playing innocent, and he’ll continue to pretend for a full minute that he doesn’t know what the reporters are talking about.
Simply delightful. -Garrett Morrison
