The Open Championship held its final qualifying rounds on Tuesday, awarding 16 spots from four host sites. The most notable name to qualify was by far Justin Rose, who seemed properly appreciative for having done so.

“Right now a little bit of a buzz, because it’s super exciting to have gotten through…I still believe I can win the Open. To win it, you’ve got to be in it. So that was key today, to come here and get that job done and give myself an opportunity at that dream.”

In addition to Rose, the most recognizable name to make it through is probably Abraham Ancer, now a LIV Golf member.

Rose was the only top-250 OWGR player to qualify. Sergio Garcia, who qualified for the U.S. Open and seemed genuinely happy to be there, failed to make it through this time, falling just short. Swedish Korn Ferry Tour sensation Tim Widing also missed out, losing on the first playoff hole.

One cool moment: Angel Hidalgo holing out for eagle on his final hole to go from out of the Open to in. Hard to finish better than that.
