Ladies and gentlemen of FEGC,
It is undeniably fall. The morning temperatures have mostly cooled around the country, the leaves are changing in the northeast and midwest, and postseason baseball is roaring. With that in mind, I structured today's Weekend Chat around the season. But before that...
2026 Event Updates
- Some of you have noticed that Tree Farm does not currently appear in our Events Portal. Fear not, it is still happening, we are just reworking the way information for that event is relayed and we'll be keeping updates internal to the FEGC membership moving forward. The event will still be February 15-17, 2026. Full details to come!
- Our Bandon Dunes lottery opens this Tuesday for FEGC members. Lottery entries will be accepted for 24 hours and winners will be announced on Thursday, October 16.
This Week's Question
There are many great fall golf traditions that close our seasons. The most common of which are crosscountry and big cup events. I personally have never competed in either but would love to compete in both. What's your favorite golf tradition for this time of year or memory from one of these golf-adjacent tournaments?
For those who may be new to Weekend Chat, we always end with a song to send us into the weekend. This week, there was only one choice. Long live, Don Rea
