Weekend Chat: Are the Olympics About Identifying the Best Golfer?

The dog days of summer are officially upon us. Not that I don’t love the heat, but I could use a nice 50 degree morning right about now.

Anyway, comment section is down there. I’m rather annoyed with certain Olympics discourse and I need some discussion. Get to it.

Your weekly question

There’s been a lot of hoopla about the Olympics not including all of the best golfers in the world. But when you look around at other sports, it’s almost certain that some of the best athletes in those sports also didn’t qualify for their country but are better than others who are representing other countries.

My question, what’s the big deal? Either qualify for your country or be quiet. I don’t see what’s so hard about this.
