Recent setups at Bethpage Black, Oak Hill, and Valhalla have all featured narrow fairways with penal rough. That trend will likely continue at Quail Hollow (2025), Aronimink (2026), and Olympic Club (2028), but the setup at PGA Frisco (2027) and Kiawah (2031) will likely feature a very different look. If the PGA Championship suffered from an identity issue before, its future venues seem to continue that trend. My question: at this point, is there anything the PGA of America can do to to restore a sense of identity? If so, what does that entail?
