Essex County Club
One of, if not the best New England has to offer

Few places in America boast the history and architecture of Essex County Club. With it's old-world feel and elite conditioning, it is a special place in the world of golf. There is a reason we keep coming back.
In addition to our event at Essex County Club, we will have two exciting add-on opportunities. The first is the option to head to Kennebunkport for a round at Cape Arundel Golf Club, one of the best sets of greens in America. Following on the event, we're taking a small group of Fried Egg Golf Club members on a New England Road Trip. Beginning on Monday, all participants will play Essex County Club, Wannamoisett Country Club, Hyannisport Club, and Dedham Country and Polo Club. It'll be a four-day whirlwind.

Course Information
Essex County Club
There are many reasons you should get out to see Essex County Club. Here are three for starters:
1 - Essex County Club is not Donald Ross's first design, but it's probably his first truly great golf course. (Pinehurst No. 2 had not yet taken its definitive form when Ross finished Essex County in 1917.) The great Scottish architect served as the golf professional at the Massachusetts club for several years, and he spent nearly a decade fine-tuning his layout. The result is a course that fully reflects Ross's intentions.
2 - After many years of sensitive stewardship by architect Bruce Hepner and superintendent Eric Richardson, Essex County is one of the most authentic Golden Age courses in America. From the fairways to the bunkers to the greens, everything feels properly old.
3 - The back nine is rightfully famous, beginning with the semi-blind par-4 10th and the intimidating uphill par-3 11th, and ending with one of the greatest flourishes in American golf: a 17th that climbs straight up the property's central hill, and a finisher that vaults back down. All four are must-see golf holes. - Garrett Morrison

Additional Golf Available
October 4 - Cape Arundel Golf Club ($295/person) - Less than 90 minutes north of Essex County Club is Cape Arundel Golf Club, a Walter Travis original that boasts some of the best green complexes in the country. The day ahead of our event at Essex, we're making the trip to Kennebunkport for a loop around this amazing Maine club. Timing to be announced. For more on Cape Arundel, check out Garrett Morrison's FEGC Course Profile.
October 6-8 - FEGC New England Road Trip ($1,695/person for Tuesday-Thursday) - Beginning on Tuesday, we are adding three days around New England for a whirlwind of a road trip. All participants are required to play our Essex County Club event, and then we'll head to Wannamoisett CC, Hyannisport Club, and Dedham Country and Polo Club for a truly incredible experience. Over four days, you'll experience four of the best courses in the Boston area (and Providence), travel inland and to the coast, and finish close to downtown so you can fly out on Thursday afternoon. Caddies are required at Wannamoisett and will be paid on the day of play.
Around Essex
Downtown Boston - Whether you want to do the Freedom Trail, visit Harvard, or head to the water to grab some seafood, there is something for everyone in Boston.
Portland, Maine - One of the best cities to visit in America, and early October is the perfect time to do it. Portland is just a couple hours north of Essex.
Boston Sports - Since their fans expect them in the playoffs, watch out for the Boston Red Sox to see if you can catch a game at Fenway Park. You can also watch the Pats if they get a home game on Sunday, October 4.
Travel Information
AIRPORTS - Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is your best option and is roughly 45 minutes from the golf course.
HOTELS - There isn't a lot close by to Essex but there is plenty within a 30-minute drive. The Beverly Hotel is just west of town and the Hotel at Cape Ann Marina isn't far either. Downtown Boston is also just an hour away if you want to stay in the city and commute up for the event.
Frequently Asked Questions

Can I sign up as a single? - Yes! Historically, about 30-40% of our fields are singles who we pair up based off similar skill levels and competitive interest.
How many spots can I reserve? - Each FEGC member can reserve up to two spots during early registration. Public registrations can reserve up to four spots.
Is there a handicap requirement? - Absolutely not. There is a pace requirement, but as long as you play quickly we are happy to have anyone and everyone participate in our events.
Can women enter? - Of course! When we said anyone and everyone we meant it.
Do I have to play the Monday event to do the road trip? - Yes, all participants will play all four days. All participants must be FEGC members.
What is your refund policy? - Refunds can be requested up to 30 days out of the event. The FEGC Road Trip requires a replacement from the waitlist in order to be refunded. Your registration will be refunded minus a 5% processing fee
