Why you should see Kingsley Club

Kingsley Club is one of the premiere courses in the Midwest, and its firm and fast fescue offers one of the finest playing surfaces in all of America. This turf aids the wonderful Mike DeVries design, routed over sublime hills and mounds perfectly scaled for dramatic golf. The front nine has an open feel and contends with some of the most interesting topography on the course, while the back nine moves into some quintessential Michigan forest land. A few holes of note include the spectacular, bunkerless par-4 12th, as well as the par-4 fourth, which navigates a hogs back fairway before playing to a big green with a punchbowl in the back. In addition to the course itself, Kingsley Club radiates a wonderful, golf-first atmosphere. This fall, come play one of the best modern designs in the country during the best season to play golf in Northern Michigan. – Andy Johnson

In the area

Michigan has a ton of great golf, and there are a ton of great golf courses within driving distance that would make for a terrific golf trip. The Loop at Forest Dunes is just over an hour east of Kingsley, and Belvedere Golf Club is just over an hour north. If you haven’t seen one or either, we’d highly recommend tacking them on to our event.

If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with the significant other, Northern Michigan in September is tough to beat. The fall weather is perfect and Traverse City has plenty to do. Rent a boat out on the water, visit one of the city’s many craft breweries and wineries, or spend the day wandering front street and trying the area’s best food. And, of course, there is always apple picking.

Traveling to Kingsley

Depending on where you’re coming in from, there are a variety of ways to get to Traverse City. Those flying can fly into Cherry Capital Airport from quite a few locations in the United States. If you want to make more of a road trip out of the event, you can fly into Chicago, Detroit, or Grand Rapids and work your way north from there.

For accommodations, we will have the on-site cottages available to Club TFE members during early registration. There is limited availability, but there are plenty of hotel and Airbnb options in Traverse City, a short 20-minute drive to the course.

Why “The Secret Sauce”?

If you’ve been to Kingsley Club and played the 18th hole, you likely know what we’re talking about. Those who haven’t may want to check around the wall that borders the tee box, especially if you’re thirsty.
