Harbour Town Golf Links and the Heritage tournament have a long history on the PGA Tour. The 50th edition of the event begins on Thursday, and the field is surprisingly strong for the week after a major. Xander Schauffele, Dustin Johnson, Francesco Molinari, Bryson DeChambeau, Jordan Spieth, and Kevin Kisner will all tee it up under the candy-striped lighthouse. RBC Heritage Tee Times

Satoshi and Big Woo Woo

Last year’s RBC Heritage was a… bizarre affair. The threat of bad weather forced an early start and a television tape delay. The wind began to whip on the back nine, and Satoshi Kodaira finally defeated Si Woo Kim in a playoff. Si Woo hit the ball sensationally, but ranked 73 out of 77 in strokes gained: putting in the final round. Kodaira’s win came in just his fifth career PGA Tour start and propelled him to No. 27 in the OWGR. He has struggled since the win last year, falling to 68th in the world.

Storylines

  • Xander Schauffele, Francesco Molinari, Dustin Johnson, and Bryson DeChambeau all held the lead at some point during the Masters last week. They fell short of Tiger but they’ll be hungry to get back in the winner’s circle at the RBC Heritage.

  • Coming off his first PGA Tour victory and a made cut at the Masters, Corey Conners will look to continue his strong play at Harbour Town. The Canadian has played the Heritage twice before, missing the cut both times.

  • Harbour Town is one of the few PGA Tour courses where the pros don’t have to drive it 300+ to succeed. Pete Dye created tight corridors that require accurate, deftly shaped shots.

  • Sungjae Im feels like a strong pick for the Heritage. The PGA Tour rookie was off during the Masters but has already played in 19 events this season. He ranks in the top 20 in both strokes gained: tee-to-green and strokes gained: putting.

  • Matt Kuchar, a longtime RBC player, tees it up for his ninth event in the last 12 weeks. It takes true dedication to be the FedEx Cup leader.

Paulie’s Picks

Harbour Town tends to favor a slightly different style player than your usual PGA Tour course. Here’s who Paulie likes in your DraftKings and one-and-done leagues.

Jones Family Legacy

The Web.com Tour returns to action this week, and a brand new tournament awaits. The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Championship gets underway on Thursday at the Senator Course in Alabama. This event marks the beginning of a run on the Web.com that will take us through the end of August. If players want to earn status on the PGA Tour, they will have to grind during this stretch. Scottie Scheffler, Doug Ghim, Maverick McNealy, Mark Hubbard, Davis Riley (Monday Q), and Akshay Bhatia (Monday Q) are among the names in the field this week. Tee Times
