Liv Golf Format Change 72 Holes
November 5, 2025
LIV builds fields like they are a mix of SGS Popularity Draft and TGL. Rebranding from 54 to 72 will be easier than moving away from the golden parachute (Westy, Poulter, Henrik, etc.) to a cutthroat competition. They need to find the happy medium of allowing players to have a merit-based pathway and still make room for popularity...the Spieth Zone if you will. author note: I am a huge Spieth fan and appreciate the TOUR's efforts to keep him around even though I do think it would be just as entertaining to see him have to grind in the fall.

Slow Horses is so much fun. Effortlessly slides between genres.

It's just very odd. Centerline trees and a centerline cart path where the left side is blind and a retention pond sits between the left fairway and the green? Not really much strategy. The bad player doesn't really have anywhere to go. Just an odd hole!

Ohhh bad take! That holes fine. Is it a good hole? Probably not. Could it be better? Absolutely. But a capital D Disaster? Seems harsh

Genuinely curious to see what happens here. If they change the name of the entire tour that would be amazing. Utah Jazz is tough to beat but I am also partial to the Memphis Grizzlies. Good stuff all around

Howdy neighbor! 30, no kids, no interest in fighting. I live in Bergen county and play my golf at Upper Montclair CC. Attended my 1st FE event in September and I'm planning on attending more in the future.

College conferences, where roman numerals and geography mean nothing.

100% agree! Also need to throw out Ballyshear Golf Links at Ban Rakat Golf Club, Gil Hanse’s take on The Lido that opened in 2021. Just outside Bangkok, it was a delightful walk around his ideal holes. So nice to play a non-cookie cutter course in Asia last year. Not as serene as the new Lido.

Huge fan of the S&B hats; wish I could pick one up from the Libertyville distro center on my way from Milwaukee to Chicago this weekend!

Basically all college conference names make no sense anymore.
