Off of an easy cash of our top 20 wager on Ludvig Aberg from last week, we head to Mexico for the 2025 Mexico Open at VidantaWorld. This is the fourth year of the event which has drawn a terrible spot on the PGA Tour schedule and created a lackluster field with minimal top players. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t make some money this week.

So what does it take to succeed at VidantaWorld? Similar to last week at Torrey Pines, being able to bomb the ball off the tee is a must. The course is one of the longest on Tour and features paspalum grass which provides players less roll than bentgrass or bermuda. The landing areas here are wide and rough is minimal, so distance definitely trumps accuracy off the tee this week. The greens here are massive and a bit slower than the Tour average, so short-game wizards have less of an edge. The way the course is set up, players are faced with an abundance of approach shots from 175-plus yards (the most of any course on Tour). The formula is pretty simple this week: be long off the tee and above average with mid and long irons. That makes sense as to why we have seen Jon Rahm, Tony Finau, and Jake Knapp as your three past winners here.

One angle that I continually see sportsbooks have trouble accurately pricing is players from other tours like the DP World Tour or Korn Ferry Tour. This week, I found great value in three players who have primarily played on the DP World Tour recently and who fit the mold perfectly.

Top 20 Niklas Norgaard Moller +200

Norgaard Moller led the DP World Tour in driving distance in 2024. Dating back to September of last year, Moller has finished inside the top 20 in six of his ten starts on the DP World Tour. We are getting a bit of a discount this week because he has played one PGA Tour event this year and missed the cut, so he is a virtual unknown to most sportsbooks and bettors. But his length combined with his overall pedigree should give him a good chance to succeed in a very weak field.

Top 20 Nicolai Hojgaard +220

People seem to be clamoring all over Rasmus Hojgaard recently because he contended at the WM Phoenix Open. But let’s not forget about his twin brother, Nicolai, who played on the last Ryder Cup team in 2023. He is a proven winner over his career with three DP World Tour victories. He is the only player in this field to rank in the top 15 in both driving distance and approach from 175-plus yards (where he ranks first in this field). The weaknesses in his game are driving accuracy and chipping, but those two areas are of minimal importance this week due to the large fairways, short rough, and large greens.

Top 20 Antoine Rozner +300

Most golf fans have never even heard of Rozner unless you are a diehard fan watching early morning DP World Tour action. Over the last four months, Rozner has played two PGA Tour events and five DP World Tour events. He has finished top six in four of those five DP World Tour starts including a few weeks ago in Qatar. In his two PGA Tour starts, he hasn’t fared well with a missed cut and a 48th. So why would I suggest betting on him this week? Well in 2024, he averaged 304 yards off the tee and led the DP World Tour in approach. In a weak field like this, I will gladly take an elite ball striker at +300 to finish top 20 as he has shown the ability to contend.
