Paulie's Picks: 2025 Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village

The PGA Tour is back at Jack’s Place for the Memorial in what is yet another signature event. The 72-player field this week will face a daunting test at Muirfield Village. This is a ball-striker’s paradise as errant shots are penalized both off the tee and around the green. If you get out of position off the tee, you will be faced with thick rough, deep bunkers, or penalty areas. Similarly, players who miss the firm greens will be penalized with extremely difficult up-and-down looks due to the thick rough and harder-than-average bunkers compared to a normal Tour stop. Let’s also not forget the greens at Muirfield Village are some of the fastest on Tour. This should make for a great warmup test for the U.S. Open in a few weeks at Oakmont.

When looking at players to target this week, you must focus on elite ball-strikers, as you can’t fake your way around this course. Let’s take a look at two players worth betting on.

Collin Morikawa: Top 20 (-137)

Morikawa has finished 17th or better in seven of nine events in 2025. He’s played at Muirfield Village six times, finishing first or second in three of them! This course is a great fit for Morikawa as his game is predicated on accuracy off the tee and elite iron play, especially with mid and long irons. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Morikawa break through for his first victory since October 2023.

Corey Conners: Top 20 (+100)

Conners has a very similar game to Morikawa in that he isn’t the longest off the tee, but he is fairly accurate with driver and elite with his irons. Corey has finished top 20 in seven of his last eight events – many of which were full-field tournaments – and he gained strokes both off the tee and on approach in each of those eight starts. Even though he may not have the best history at this event, he is in great form and his game should fit Muirfield Village well.
