Greetings and welcome to Year in Review season on The Shotgun Start Podcast!
Fried Egg Golf’s Andy Johnson and Brendan Porath are back once again with their sixth annual series of episodes that focus on the amusing, inane, and extraordinary moments in the world of golf from the last year. Not only are the guys going live on YouTube for the episodes, but they’re also joined by Producer PJ Clark, who has become a fan favorite over the last six months.
This year it took nine episodes to cover The Sentry through the FedEx Cup Playoffs, and you can watch them all below via the Fried Egg Golf YouTube channel (make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss future live shows!), or you listen as always on Apple or Spotify.
Part 9
Year in Review season is officially over. In Part 9, the boys cover the FedEx Cup Playoffs and put to bed some of the best episodes of the year. Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened
Part 8
We’ve made it to the final event of the regualr season. Part 8 covered the Scottish Open through the Wyndham Championship, which was made famous by Matt Kuchar’s Monday finish. Just the FedEx Cup Playoffs remain.
Part 7
This was a MARATHON Year in Review episode that covered the Memorial Tournament through the John Deere Classic, which included the U.S. Open at Pinehurst, protesters at the Travelers and Blandemonium at the U.S. Senior Open.
Part 6
It’s major season once again as this episode starts with the PGA Championship and Scottie Scheffler’s arrest and features Andy’s round with Blockie at the Charles Schwab Championship, Richard Bland’s Senior PGA win, and Big Shot Bob MacIntyre’s RBC Canadian Open win with his dad on the bag.
Part 5
This episode gets off the rails in classic Shotgun Start fashion and hits on everything that went down from the RBC Heritage through the Wells Fargo Championship.
Part 4
Major season, meet Year in Review season! Part 4 begins with remembering Peppy Peter Malnati’s victory at the Valspar, his first PGA Tour win in nine years, and ends with a wild Masters week that included the total eclipse, Zach Johnson (not) cursing at patrons, and Scottie pulling away from the pack on Sunday.
Part 3
Andy, Brendan, and PJ look back at the PGA Tour’s Florida swing, including the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches (formerly the Honda Classic) and Scottie Scheffler’s first win of the year at Bay Hill. The episode ends with a full recap of the Players Championship which featured Jay Monahan’s “State of the Tour” presser, collars of rough ruining No. 17 at TPC Sawgrass, Xander Schauffele’s failure to close, and a Rory McIlroy-Jordan Spieth spat over “Dropgate.” There’s also some Anthony Kim and LIV Golf discussion sprinkled throughout.

Andy, Brendan, and PJ kick off Year in Review on YouTube with the Sentry in January through the Mexico Open at Vidanta in the end of February.
Part 1 hits on Jason “Dayman” Day and his first-ever Malbon outfit and Jon Rahm’s vacation near Kapalua, while Part 2 features Wyndham Clark’s course record at the rain-shortened Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the “out of control” scene at the Waste Management, Tiger’s trip in a “paramedic truck” at Riviera, and plenty more in between.
