Bingo Bango Bongo is a versatile game as you can play it with any size group. Additionally, you don’t have to worry about handicaps and can play with a variety of players as it relates to skill set.
The game revolves around competing for three points on each hole. You will need to set the dollar amount on the first tee for what each point will be worth. The point value typically ranges from $1 to $5. Much like any other golf gambling game you can increase the stakes to whatever number you’d like.
There are three different qualifications to receive a point on each hole. The Bingo point is earned by the first golfer to get their ball on the green. It is important to hit in proper order as you approach the green, with the player farthest away getting the first attempt at the green. You then work your way in with the player closest to the green hitting last. Having the honor on the tee on a par 3s is vitally important as you can earn the Bingo point right out of the gate.
Once all balls are on the green the player that is closest to the pin will earn the Bango point. This point gives players that don’t hit a lot of greens a great opportunity to win if they can chip it close.
The Bongo point goes to the player to hole their ball first. It is up to the group if they will allow players to finish out gimmes or will have each player mark everything to keep the proper order in play.
One rule to live by in this game to keep people honest is to punish players for playing out of turn by awarding the point to the person to achieve the activity second. Many groups build in presses to this game, so players at the bottom of the leaderboard have the chance to make a comeback. This simply doubles the bet to make each point worth two. Usually, presses are limited to one on each nine so things don’t get out of hand.
With spring finally here, Bingo Bango Bongo is a great game to introduce to your regular group at your home club.
